We’re absolutely delighted to announce that we have acquired Finnish game developer, Tribe Studios.
Tribe Studios made its name with its patented Dramagame technology, which it uses to develop multiplayer role-playing games. The technology is built around chat interaction, where one game has multiple points-of-views and an unlimited amount of possible outcomes, based on player decisions.
Following the acquisition last year of Swedish game studio, Free Lunch Design, we now also develop native mobile games with Palringo community integration. The combination of in-app chat games and native mobile games, with the mobile community at the centre, sets Palringo in a unique space and leads the way for establishing the app as an integrated community games platform.
The Tribe Studios acquisition will allow us to strengthen our capacity in developing engaging chat-based games for the app, with a focus on asymmetric multiplayer stories. The app’s model of real time messaging and gaming aligns it well for the integration of such social games into the mobile platform.
Our CEO Tim Rea said: “Tribe Studios has a unique offering that fits perfectly with our ambitions of establishing Palringo as the pioneer in mobile community gaming. The combination of games, messaging and communities creates a fantastic, sustainable proposition.
“They have a great team and we’re excited to work with them to bring their Dramagame concept to mobile through Palringo’s chat games.”
Elina Arponen, Founder of Tribe Studios, said: “ We are very excited to join Palringo. In the chat environment we can really focus on the core elements of Dramagame and exceed player expectations. This is a great opportunity to build the next paradigm of mobile gaming.”
Welcome to the Palringo family!
