In Palringo 9.1 [iOS], you’ll find the brand-new Quick Bar to make switching between different parts of the app seamless, improvements to how you purchase Charms, and an improved Discover page.
Charms Purchase Flow Improvements
We’ve made several improvements to how you purchase Charms, which makes finding your favourites easier and pinning them to your Avatar quicker.
Wearing a Charm you’ve just purchased
As soon as you purchase a Charm for yourself, you can wear it immediately, and be returned to your Charms inventory.
Renewing Expired Charms
If a Charm has expired and you’d like to renew it, you can now do so easier.
Navigate to your Profile > Tap on Charms (on your Avatar) > Tap the inventory list (highlighted on the first image below) > Navigate to Expired > Tap on any Charm you want to renew to be taken to the Store to purchase it directly.
Like someone’s look?
If you notice another user wearing a Charm that you like, you can tap on that user’s Charm to immediately be given the option to add it* to your collection via the Store.
*Please note that limited edition/unique reward Charms CAN’T be purchased.
Sign Up/ Log In Improvements
We’ve improved the presentation of the log-in screen to make it easier to log-in with multiple accounts.
The “Quick Bar” is a new way for you to quickly navigate through different parts of the app. You can see it near the bottom of your screen. Upon first logging in, the Quick Bar will be visible. Using a simple press and swipe gesture, you can reveal/hide the Quick Bar.
- Reveal Quick Bar: Press and Hold (near the bottom of the app) > Swipe up
- Close Quick Bar: Press and Hold (on the Quick Bar) > Swipe down
- Quick Bar Options: Long press on a Tab for 4 options
- Close Tab: Closes the current Tab
- Close All Other Tabs: Closes all other tabs except the Tab you are on
- Open a New Tab: Creates a new Tab
- Lock Tab: Even if you navigate away on the Tab, it will return to the locked Group or Profile.
You can open up to 5 Quick Bar tabs. Each tab can be a separate section of the app. I.E. 1 tab can be a Private Chat; 1 can be a Group; 1 can be the Discover page; 1 can be the Home Screen, etc.
Each tab will update independently. If one tab has a Stage open (and someone is on the mic), it will continue to play (and be the primary source of audio/mute other Stages).
- Tab 1 – Discover Page
- Tab 2 – Private Chat
- Tab 3 – Group Chat
- Tab 4 – Home Page
- Tab 5 – Group Page
Over the next several months, we are planning to visually uplift the Discover page so that it helps to find the Groups you’re interested in easier, as well as highlighting some of the best Groups in the app.
The first step in this is quite minor: You will notice that when you visit the Discover page, Avatar containers have now been slightly rounded.
If you haven’t yet upgraded to the latest version, head to the App Store!
